How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An exciting Traffic Planning Operator role with a friendly, well-established transport business in Manchester.

    This is a varied, hands-on role for someone with a background in transport who's confident dealing with drivers, comfortable helping plan routes, and happy getting stuck into administration alongside the operational side of the business.

    My client has built a genuinely friendly, close-knit office, and you'll be a key part of keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.

    The role

    You'll be working closely with drivers and the wider team, monitoring on-time deliveries, keeping customers updated, and supporting with compliance and administration. Full training is given on their in-house systems, so what matters most is transport experience and a genuinely organised approach.

    * Inputting customer jobs onto the TOPS system (full training given)

    * Monitoring on-time deliveries and communicating any delays or issues to customers

    * Notifying Port Agents and Shipping Lines of export and empty (M/T) loads due at port

    * Ensuring loads are booked correctly with the ports

    * Assisting with planning routes for drivers as and when needed

    * Responding to customer requests for PODs and interchange documentation

    * Investigating detention issues and reporting findings to the Depot Manager

    * Checking fuel receipts against the FMS system and investigating discrepancies

    * Supporting the Fleet Manager with fleet and compliance administration

    * Downloading driver and vehicle tachograph data and uploading to Smart Analysis

    * Completing driver attendance records and Working Time Directive (WTD) data

    * Maintaining driver holiday records and processing driver timesheets

    * Checking supplier invoices against purchase order numbers

    What they're looking for

    * A background in transport, confident dealing with drivers and helping plan routes

    * Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail

    * Good communication and customer service skills

    * Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

    * Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

    * A team player with a proactive, ownership-taking approach

    * Professional, polite, and comfortable building relationships with colleagues and customers

    * Flexible on hours when the role demands it

    On offer

    * £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience and background

    * Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (some flexibility required due to the nature of the role)

    If this sounds like your kind of role, I'd love to hear from you
