How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Head of Operations (Construction)
    Location: Potters Bar or Romford
    Salary: Up to £120,000 + Benefits
     
    Our client, a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished operational leader to play a key role in shaping the future of a successful business.
     
    Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Company Owner, you will take ownership of construction operations, driving project delivery, improving operational performance, and implementing new processes and systems to support continued growth.
     
    The Role
    As Head of Operations, you will oversee multiple projects across the business, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be instrumental in reviewing existing ways of working, introducing more efficient systems and processes, and developing high-performing operational teams.
     
    Key responsibilities include:

    Providing strategic leadership across all construction operations.
    Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Company Owner.
    Leading the successful delivery of multiple live construction projects.
    Implementing and embedding new operational processes and management systems.
    Driving continuous improvement across project delivery, quality, health & safety, and client satisfaction.
    Managing, mentoring, and developing operational teams.
    Working closely with commercial and pre-construction teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
    Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders. About You
    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within the construction industry.
    Essential experience managing cladding remediation and/or social housing projects.
    A strong track record of overseeing multiple projects and leading large operational teams.
    Experience implementing new systems, processes, and operational improvements.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    Commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and business objectives. What's on Offer
