How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    12-Month Contract

    SC Clearance Required

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in manufacturing, supplier quality, or inspection within highly regulated industries? We are seeking a skilled professional to support the delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing and supply chain process.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the quality assurance of specialist mechanical and electrical assemblies, working closely with suppliers across Europe and supporting projects within the UK nuclear sector.

    The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will provide independent quality assurance support across multiple engineering projects, ensuring supplier quality arrangements, manufacturing processes, inspections, and supporting documentation fully comply with customer and project requirements.
You will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality is embedded throughout the project lifecycle-from design reviews and supplier kick-off meetings through to final manufacturing acceptance and Lifetime Records (LTRs).
European travel (primarily France and Italy) will be required to support supplier inspections and manufacturing oversight.

    Key Responsibilities

Review and approve supplier quality arrangements in line with project requirements
Assess Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), weld procedures, NDT procedures and manufacturing documentation
Conduct supplier surveillance and inspections throughout manufacturing
Attend supplier kick-off meetings to establish quality expectations
Verify progress of Lifetime Records (LTRs) alongside manufacturing activities
Coordinate inspection activities and liaise with customer inspection representatives
Support engineering teams during design reviews to ensure inspection and quality requirements are clearly defined
Review enquiry, tender and contract documentation for project-specific quality requirements
Investigate product quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions
Monitor project quality performance and escalate risks where necessary
Produce quality estimates to support bids, tenders and project planning
Support final product acceptance and documentation review

    Essential Experience

    Manufacturing apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification)
Experience in the manufacture, assembly and testing of specialist engineered assemblies
Strong knowledge of Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing quality processes
Ability to interpret engineering and manufacturing documentation
Eligible to obtain or hold UK Security Check (SC) clearance

    Desirable Experience

HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection or PCN Level 2 (Weld Inspection)
    Internal or Lead Auditor experience
Experience within Nuclear or another highly regulated industry
    Knowledge of:
    Fabrication and welding processes
    NDT techniques
    Mechanical inspection
    Electrical assembly and testing
    Material certification review
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
Familiarity with customer quality assurance requirements within regulated industries

    What's on Offer

    12-month contract
    £40.00 - £55.00 per hour
    Inside IR35
Opportunity to work on major nuclear engineering programmes
    International supplier engagement across Europe
Long-term project with a highly experienced engineering team
If you're an experienced Quality Engineer looking for your next contract within the nuclear sector and enjoy working closely with suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards, we'd love to hear from you
