How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    💻 About the Role

    We're looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering practice and support the delivery of major public sector digital transformation programmes.

    You'll work on high-profile government projects, helping to design, build and support secure, scalable AWS cloud platforms that underpin critical digital services used by millions across the UK.

    As part of a multidisciplinary Agile team, you'll collaborate closely with software engineers, solution architects, security specialists and product teams to deliver cloud-native infrastructure, improve deployment automation and enhance platform reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and driving engineering excellence through automation and DevOps best practice.

    🔧 Key Responsibilities

    *

    Design, implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform

    *

    Build secure, highly available and scalable cloud environments

    *

    Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and operational processes

    *

    Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting efficient software delivery

    *

    Improve monitoring, logging and observability capabilities

    *

    Deploy and manage Docker and Kubernetes-based workloads

    *

    Support cloud platforms across production and non-production environments

    *

    Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment and platform issues

    *

    Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver robust cloud-native solutions

    *

    Champion DevOps principles, automation and continuous improvement

    ✅ Requirements

    *

    Active SC Clearance (mandatory)

    *

    Strong commercial experience delivering DevOps solutions within AWS environments

    *

    Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda and ECS/EKS

    *

    Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation

    *

    Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI

    *

    Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience in production environments

    *

    Scripting skills using Python and/or Bash

    *

    Solid understanding of Git version control

    *

    Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary teams

    *

    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    *

    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
