How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

As the school's Mental Health Mentor, you will:

Provide daily emotional, behavioural and wellbeing support to pupils within the SEND provision.

Build positive and trusting relationships with children who may have SEMH, SEND or additional learning needs.

Develop and implement strategies to support pupils' emotional regulation and engagement.

Work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, parents and external professionals.

Oversee key responsibilities within the provision, ensuring interventions and support plans are delivered effectively.

Promote positive behaviour and encourage confidence, independence and resilience.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, meetings and safeguarding procedures.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has previous experience working with children with SEND and/or SEMH needs.

Has experience supporting children's mental health and emotional wellbeing within an educational setting.

Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive, trauma-informed approaches.

Can work proactively, independently and as part of a wider school team.

Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Is passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives.

    Essential Requirements

✅ Previous experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils.

✅ Experience supporting children's mental health in a school or similar setting.

✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

✅ Right to work in the UK.

✅ Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

    In Return You Will Receive

Competitive salary of £28,000 - £36,000, depending on experience.

The opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive 2-form entry primary school.

Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

A welcoming leadership team committed to staff wellbeing.

❤️ The chance to make a lasting impact on children's lives every single day.
