How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fall Protection Engineer
    London and the South | £300 per day
    Ongoing Contract | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
    Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00 | Start: 17 August 2026
    The Role
    We are recruiting an experienced Fall Protection Engineer to inspect, test and maintain building-mounted height-safety systems across London and the South.
    You will work on fall-protection equipment such as roof-edge guardrails, fixed anchor points, fall-restraint points and associated height-safety systems. This is a mobile, autonomous role involving inspection, compliance testing, remedial works and accurate on-site reporting.
    Responsibilities
    * Travel independently between sites across London and the South.
    * Inspect and retest fall-protection and height-safety equipment.
    * Test guardrails, anchor points and fall-restraint systems.
    * Complete approximately three to four site visits per day.
    * Carry out required remedial works safely and professionally.
    * Leave tested systems compliant and fit for purpose.
    * Clearly identify and condemn equipment that fails inspection.
    * Complete reports on the retest portal while on-site.
    * Communicate results and site issues to the management team.
    * Maintain accurate records of tools, materials and spare parts.
    * Leave every site clean, tidy and free from damage.
    Requirements
    All certifications and training below are mandatory:
    * Working at Height.
    * LOLER.
    * Basic Harness Training.
    * IPAF.
    * CSCS
    * SSSTS
    * Experience inspecting, testing or maintaining height-safety systems.
    * Confidence working independently and at height.
    * Strong fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
    * Ability to manage travel and multiple daily appointments.
    * Professional, safety-focused and customer-conscious approach.
    No company vehicle is provided, so you must have suitable transport and be able to travel between sites. All agreed work-related expenses are covered.
