TeacherActive is proud to be working with an established specialist provision in Somerset that educates boys and girls aged 7 to 16 with Specific Learning Differences, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. The school is recognised for its unique ethos, innovative approach to education and commitment to becoming a centre of excellence in the field of Specific Learning Differences and blended learning.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time temporary Learning Support Assistant from September. This temporary Learning Support Assistant role will involve supporting students aged 7 to 16 within the classroom and in small group settings, helping to remove barriers to learning, encourage independence and provide tailored support for pupils with Specific Learning Differences. This is a temporary position and is ideal for a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about making a positive impact within a specialist educational environment.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or Specific Learning Differences, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or dysgraphia
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
• A genuine passion for helping every student achieve their potential
