How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    R13 Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a growing, technology-led organisation in their search for an Installations Engineer to join their Norwich-based team.
    This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their IT career. Whether you're currently working in 2nd or 3rd Line Support, or maybe balancing support with occasional installation projects, this role offers the chance to transition into a dedicated installations position with training and support provided.
    You'll work alongside an experienced team, gaining hands-on exposure to a wide variety of client projects, from workstation deployments through to larger infrastructure rollouts. If you're technically minded, enjoy getting out from behind the desk and are keen to build a career delivering IT solutions on-site, this could offer the right career path.
    Working hours are Monday to Friday, 39hrs per week, with occasional out-of-hours work (time back in lieu provided). The role is based from the Norwich office with travel to client sites both locally and more infrequently across the UK.
    Please note that a full UK driving licence is essential, and occasional overnight stays will be required.
    The Company
    This organisation delivers a comprehensive range of IT solutions to SME clients across the UK. With an excellent reputation for customer service and technical expertise, they support businesses with everything from IT infrastructure and networking to cloud and connectivity solutions.
    Joining the team means becoming part of a supportive business that genuinely invests in developing its people, providing the training and experience needed to build a long-term career in IT installations.
    The Benefits:
    * Competitive salary
    * 25 days holiday + bank holidays
    * Private medical cover
    * Pension scheme
    * Gym membership
    * Cycle to work scheme
    * Employee Assistance Programme
    * Time off in lieu (TOIL) for out-of-hours work
    * Ongoing training and development opportunities
    The Day to Day
    * Assisting with and delivering IT installation projects for clients across the UK.
    * Installing and configuring PCs, laptops, monitors and networking equipment.
    * Supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
    * Setting up user devices and IT infrastructure.
    * Assisting with network installations, including wireless access points and structured cabling.
    * Supporting AV and telephony installations where required.
    * Project planning scope of works
    * Travelling to client sites to complete installations and project work.
    * Working closely with experienced engineers to develop your technical knowledge.
    * Delivering a professional, customer-focused service on every project.
    * Taking increasing ownership of projects as your experience grows.
    You Will Have/Be
    * Experience within an IT support role, at 2nd or 3rd Line level, or exposure to both support and installations.
    * An MSP background would be advantageous but not essential.
    * Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 and basic networking principles.
    * An interest in infrastructure, hardware and project-based IT work.
    * A proactive approach with a willingness to learn new technologies.
    * Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to work through technical challenges.
    * Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
    * A full UK driving licence.
