How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

This is an Electrical Project Manager role built around a substantial piece of work: a £20 million M&E project in Bath, which you would run on site from the front. Projects of that value do not come along often for an electrical PM, and it is the kind of scheme that defines a delivery track record.

The role is site-based in Bath, with the initial programme running to around twelve months. It is not a one-off assignment though. The client has further projects lined up in the Bath area to follow, so this is a permanent role with a settled base of work in the region rather than a fixed-term contract that ends after a year.

The client is speaking primarily to candidates in and around Bath and the South West, but is also open to people elsewhere, including the North-West, who are happy to travel to Bath for the project. For candidates travelling from further afield, such as the North-West, the client will fund accommodation while on site, so it is a realistic move whether you are local or coming from further away.

This is a permanent role paying £70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.

    About the Business

Our client is a well-established M&E engineering specialist with national reach. They design, build and maintain highly serviced, controlled and process-critical facilities across a range of demanding sectors, with mechanical, electrical, design and delivery capability held in-house.

Their work is a long way from standard commercial building services. Much of it is carried out within live, regulated and operationally sensitive environments, where the engineering has to accommodate strict process, compliance and programme requirements. Delivering an M&E project of this scale and complexity is exactly the kind of work the business is built around, and the person running it needs to be comfortable operating at that level.

Accreditations include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The business has grown on the strength of delivery and long-term client relationships, which is why there is a run of work in the Bath area behind this project rather than a single job.

    What You'll Be Doing

    *

Taking full ownership of electrical delivery on a £20 million M&E project, on site in Bath

    *

Managing the electrical works from mobilisation through to commissioning, handover and close-out

    *

Leading site teams and specialist subcontractors, coordinating labour and resource across the programme

    *

Acting as the primary electrical point of contact with the client, main contractor and design team on site

    *

Owning the electrical programme, identifying risks early and driving solutions to keep delivery on track

    *

Managing procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages in line with programme and budget

    *

Ensuring installations are delivered to specification and in full compliance with BS 7671 and current regulations

    *

Maintaining health, safety and quality standards across the electrical works

    *

Overseeing testing, commissioning, handover and O&M documentation through to defect close-out

    *

Moving on to the client’s further projects in the Bath area as this one completes

    What We're Looking For

    *

A strong electrical project management background, having run M&E or electrical projects from mobilisation through to handover

    *

Experience delivering large-value projects; comfort operating on a scheme of this size is essential

    *

Based in or around Bath, or happy to travel or relocate to Bath for the project and the further work that follows

    *

Strong on programme management, subcontractor management and client-facing communication

    *

Experience of industrial, process or operationally sensitive environments is an advantage

    *

Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 and relevant electrical standards

    *

SMSTS and CSCS, with relevant electrical qualifications

    *

    Full UK driving licence

    What's on Offer

    *

    £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience

    *

    Full company benefits package

    *

A settled base of work in the Bath area, not a single short-term project

    *

Funded accommodation while on site for candidates travelling from further afield, such as the North-West

    *

A £20 million project to put your name to, followed by further projects in the region

    *

A permanent role with an established M&E business, rather than a short-term contract
