How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Engineer
    Civil Engineering | Somerset | PAYE Contract
    £350 per day Umbrella PAYE | Immediate Start | 3-Month Initial Contract

    Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity?

    We're working with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit a Site Engineer to support the delivery of highways and infrastructure projects across Somerset.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project team delivering a varied programme of civil engineering works, including earthworks, drainage, structures and highways.

    The Role
    As Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day engineering activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project specifications.
    Working closely with the Project Manager and site teams, you'll provide engineering support throughout the construction phase whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, health & safety and environmental compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing all site engineering activities.
    Engineering control and setting out.
    Supervising site activities and providing technical support to the workforce.
    Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications.
    Maintaining quality assurance procedures and inspection records.
    Supporting the permit process, including CAT scanning and issuing permits.
    Producing accurate site records, site diaries and as-built information.
    Promoting the highest Health, Safety & Environmental standards across the project.
    Requirements

    Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering.
    Experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects.
    Strong setting out and engineering control experience.
    Knowledge of earthworks, drainage and structures.
    AutoCAD experience.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    CSCS Card.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
