How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to work for a large engineering company based near Ashton under Lyne.

    Salary is c£30-32,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company bonus, pension, healthcare etc.

    Duties for the Junior Quality Engineer role:

    Working alongside experienced Quality Engineers, you will provide support across a range of quality activities to ensure products meet the required specifications and quality standards. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity with genuine career progression.

    Key Responsibilities for the Junior Quality Engineer:

    *

    Support the Quality Engineering team with day-to-day quality activities.

    *

    Assist with product inspections and ensuring products meet specification requirements.

    *

    Help maintain calibration records and quality documentation.

    *

    Support the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS).

    *

    Assist with general quality department administration.

    *

    Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.

    Previous experience required for the Junior Quality Engineer role:

    *

    Minimum of 3 years' experience within a manufacturing environment.

    *

    Previous experience within a quality department is desirable.

    *

    Understanding of manufacturing processes from raw materials through to finished products.

    *

    Knowledge of quality functions such as product conformance, specifications and calibration.

    *

    Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) or Integrated Management Systems (IMS) would be advantageous.

    *

    Experience working to high manufacturing standards, ideally within aerospace, defence or another precision engineering environment.

    *

    Good communication skills with a willingness to learn and develop.
