How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Teaching Assistant | Secondary School | September 2026

    A successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Westminster is seeking an ambitious Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026. This full-time position is available five days per week and will run for approximately one term, with a strong possibility of being extended for the right candidate.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Russell Group graduate who is looking to gain first-hand classroom experience before progressing into teacher training or a long-term career within education.

    What You'll Be Doing

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across the curriculum, helping students remain engaged, confident and motivated throughout the school day. You will provide targeted support for individuals and small groups while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons.

    Support pupils who require additional academic encouragement.

    Deliver focused interventions to small groups and individual students.

    Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.

    Promote positive behaviour and excellent classroom routines.

    Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff.

    Encourage independence, confidence and participation.

    Person Specification

    A degree from a Russell Group University is essential.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    A positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude.

    Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.

    A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.

    Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
