How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a CDM Health & Safety Advisor (Facilities) to join a leading defence engineering organisation, supporting the successful delivery of construction, refurbishment and facilities projects across a diverse UK estate. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing safety team, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations.
    This role is a 2-year fixed-term contract.
This role supports the Facilities Management team by providing expert CDM and contractor safety guidance across multiple UK sites. Working closely with Project Managers, contractors and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring construction projects are delivered in line with current legislation while driving continual improvement across safety processes and procedures.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Support the implementation of CDM 2015 Regulations across a varied portfolio of facilities and construction projects.
    * Assist in delivering the Principal Designer function for small works projects.
    * Provide competent health and safety advice to Project Managers and Facilities Management teams.
    * Monitor contractor compliance and ensure works are completed in accordance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
    * Carry out inspections of live construction and CDM sites across multiple UK locations.
    * Assist with accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    * Collate, analyse and report contractor safety performance and compliance statistics.
    * Support internal and external health and safety audits.
    * Work closely with maintenance service providers to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
    * Develop and improve safety procedures, processes and working practices.
    * Travel regularly to support facilities projects across UK sites, including Stevenage, Bristol and Bolton.
    The ideal candidate would have:
    * Experience working within Facilities Management, construction or the built environment.
    * Strong knowledge and practical application of CDM 2015 Regulations.
    * Experience supporting or undertaking the Principal Designer role.
    * Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and contractor compliance activities.
    * Experience investigating accidents and incidents and implementing improvements.
    * Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
    * A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects across different locations.
    * IMaPS or CMaPS accreditation would be advantageous.
    The ideal candidate must have:
    * NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
    * Membership of IOSH with an active CPD record.
    * Experience applying CDM 2015 Regulations within construction or facilities projects.
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between UK sites.
