How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're recruiting for a Process Technologist to join a leading UK food manufacturer in Manchester.
    This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with over 80 years of history, £250m turnover, and ambitious growth plans to reach £300m within the next three years. Supplying major retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury's and M&S, the company continues to invest heavily in innovation, NPD and talent development.
    The Role
    As a Process Technologist, you'll play a key role in bringing new products from concept through to launch. Working closely with NPD, Production, Technical and Quality teams, you'll support factory trials, process validation and successful product launches across the ambient product category.
    This opportunity would suit an existing Process Technologist or a Food Science/Food Technology graduate who has gained valuable manufacturing experience through placements or industry experience.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Run and support factory trials and process validations.
    * Manage projects through critical paths to ensure successful launches.
    * Work closely with NPD and Production teams to scale products from concept to manufacture.
    * Support continuous improvement activities across manufacturing processes.
    * Ensure products can be produced safely, efficiently and consistently.
    * Maintain accurate process documentation and specifications.
    Requirements
    * Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
    * Previous experience as a Process Technologist, NPD Technologist or similar role, or relevant food manufacturing placement experience.
    * Strong organisational and project management skills.
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    * Passion for food manufacturing, innovation and product development.
    * Bakery or dessert manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
    What's On Offer?
    * Salary up to £32,000.
    * 5% employer pension contribution.
    * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
    * Excellent training and development opportunities.
    * Genuine career progression within a growing FMCG business.
    * Opportunity to work on iconic products supplied to leading UK retailers.
    If you're looking to build your career within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, NPD, Product Development, Process Development or Food Technology, we'd love to hear from you.
    Apply today with your latest CV. Interviews will be arranged as suitable candidates are identified.
