How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About you

If you have a background in sales and you enjoy speaking to people, this could be the career move you've been looking for.

Maybe you're fed up with knocking on doors, chasing one off sales and starting from scratch every month. Maybe you enjoy building relationships but never really get to benefit from the work you've put in. If you're looking for a role where your effort genuinely pays off and there is a clear route to progress, it's worth having a conversation.

Recruitment is challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Every day is different and every placement you make has the potential to change someone's career while building your own.

This is an opportunity to join a growing recruitment business where your development is taken seriously from day one.

    Your experience

You do not need recruitment experience to be successful in this role. Sales experience is far more important.

You'll have a confident phone manner, enjoy speaking with people and be comfortable building relationships. You'll be organised, resilient and motivated by achieving goals.

A competitive mindset is important. Whether that comes from sales, sport or another environment, you'll enjoy pushing yourself while working as part of a team that celebrates success together.

If you're someone who wants to learn, works hard and enjoys being rewarded for your results, you'll fit in well.

What you will be doing with your experience

You'll join the Permanent Recruitment team, learning from experienced consultants who have already built successful desks.

Your day will involve speaking with candidates about their experience, helping clients recruit permanent staff, arranging interviews and writing engaging job adverts.

As your knowledge grows, you'll become a specialist within your market, building long term relationships with both clients and candidates while developing your own portfolio.

There is a structured training programme designed to help you become a fully established Recruitment Consultant within six months. From there you can progress through Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant, Business Manager or Team Manager.

You'll also enjoy a workplace that believes work should be rewarding and enjoyable. Expect monthly performance prizes, early Friday finishes, director's lunches for high performers and the occasional game of darts to settle office bragging rights.

    About the business

Rogers McHugh Recruitment is a specialist construction and facilities management recruitment business operating across the UK. Since launching in 2020, the company has grown rapidly by building long term relationships with clients and candidates while investing heavily in its people.

You'll receive a competitive basic salary with increases linked to promotion, uncapped monthly commission, increasing annual leave as your career progresses and a clear development plan that gives you genuine opportunities to build a long term career.

The business provides the tools, support and mentoring needed to help ambitious people succeed, regardless of whether they have previous recruitment experience.

Working hours are 8.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am until 4.00pm on Friday.
