C3 Group is recruiting a Head of Energy & Sustainability to lead its established energy and sustainability consultancy.

The Head of Energy & Sustainability will take responsibility for the commercial, operational and technical performance of the consultancy, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

As Head of Energy & Sustainability, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of Energy Consultants, Building Services Engineers and Designers while driving growth, strengthening client relationships and developing C3 Group’s profile across the industry.

This Head of Energy & Sustainability opportunity would suit an experienced M&E, building services, energy or sustainability professional who wants the autonomy to shape, lead and grow a consultancy—with a genuine opportunity to progress to Directorship.

C3 Group is an ambitious energy and sustainability consultancy helping organisations reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and develop practical routes to Net Zero. Its services include energy audits, heat decarbonisation plans, feasibility studies, retrofit programmes, sustainability consultancy and low-carbon M&E design.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you’ll shape the business strategy, take ownership of commercial performance and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to a consistently high standard.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Develop and deliver the business strategy, annual plan, budget and growth objectives.
• Win new projects through bids, tenders, frameworks and proposals.
• Drive growth across Net Zero, sustainability consultancy and M&E design services.
• Provide senior technical oversight across energy audits, heat decarbonisation plans, feasibility studies, retrofit programmes and low-carbon designs.
• Lead, develop and resource the technical team.
• Introduce clear objectives, mentoring, performance reviews and professional development plans.
• Strengthen relationships with senior clients across the public and commercial sectors.
• Monitor project programmes, budgets, work in progress, invoicing, margins, quality and delivery risks.
• Ensure resources are managed effectively and projects are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially.
• Represent C3 Group at client meetings, industry events and across the wider energy and sustainability market.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Strong senior-level experience within M&E, building services, energy efficiency, Net Zero, sustainability or renewable energy.
• Proven experience leading and developing technical, engineering or design teams.
• A successful track record in business development, tendering and securing projects.
• The ability to develop trusted relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Experience managing project performance, resources, margins and profitability.
• A relevant engineering, energy or sustainability qualification.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Professional membership or experience of PAS 2038 would be advantageous.
