How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Air Source Heat Pump Engineer – Overview

    We are currently working with a Renewable Energy company based in London who are seeking an experienced Lead Air Source Heat Pump Engineer to cover Installation, Maintenance & repair works on residential properties. The company have been established for over 50 years and are extremely successful in their area, they can offer training, development, progression and an excellent package to all Engineers.

    They cover Heat Pumps, Solar PV & Battery Storage, Ventilation and EV Charging systems.

    This role is ideal for an experienced Heat Pump Engineer who wants to lead on site, take real ownership of installations, and build toward a broader skill set across the full renewable system range. You will lead installations, commissioning and quality assurance working on high-end residential projects across London and the surrounding areas, you will lead the installation and commissioning of heat pump systems, with training provided in:

    Underfloor Heating Systems

    *

    Radiant Heating & Cooling Systems

    *

    Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery (MVHR)

    *

    Smart Controls & System Integration

    *

    Fan Coil Systems

    You will work independently or lead small teams depending on the project, delivering to the exacting standards expected on high‑end residential properties.

    Most of the work is local to London, and you will be required to covering the immediate surrounding areas.

    No two projects are the same. Some weeks you'll be leading a small team on a heat pump installation; others you'll be working solo, delivering to the exacting standard our clients and architects expect on some of London's most innovative sustainable homes.

    Essential Requirements

    *

    Current Gas Safe registration

    *

    3–5 years' heat pump installation experience

    *

    Demonstrable experience leading engineers on site

    *

    Full UK driving licence

    *

    Own van and tools

    *

    Right to work in the UK

    Desirable Qualifications

    Level 3 Award in Installation of Heat Pump Systems (e.g. City & Guilds 6336 or BPEC) — desirable, not essential if equivalent hands-on experience can be demonstrated

    Lead Air Source Heat Pump Engineer – Salary & Remuneration

    Subcontractor Rate: £250–£320 per day

    *

    Permanent Salary: £52,000 – £58,000

    Own Van & Tools

    *

    Hours: Mon–Fri - 8am – 4:30pm

    Private Medical Insurance

    Overtime Available after 6 months

    28 Days + BH

    *

    Uniform, PPE
