This is a full-time Year 1 teaching position covering from October 2026 until January 2027. Planning is already in place, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging lessons and building positive relationships with the children. You will have the flexibility to adapt and tweak the planning to suit your own teaching style while ensuring the needs of the class are met. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and phonics, alongside experience carrying out assessments and observations to support children's academic progress and development.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics
Experience completing assessments and observations to monitor progress and identify next steps in learning
Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
