Job Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Manager to lead our site technical, quality, and food safety systems. This role is crucial in ensuring our packing station remains compliant, audit-ready, and aligned with customer, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
Oversee and maintain site-wide food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, BRCGS, Lion Code, RSPCA Assured, and organic accreditations.
Ensure the packing station is always audit-ready for BRCGS, customer, retailer, and third-party audits.
Lead and audit the site Quality Management System, ensuring all procedures and records are accurate, effective, and up-to-date.
Manage the HACCP system and site audit schedules to ensure ongoing compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Communicate and monitor quality challenges, changes to standards, customer requirements, and corrective actions across the site.
Assist with internal audits, non-conformance investigations, and corrective action close-outs.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, and certification bodies on technical and quality matters, including leading technical visits and audits.
Conduct product sampling and testing, collate, analyze, and track data to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
Formulate and maintain product specifications in line with customer, legal, and accreditation requirements.
Manage site hygiene standards and the hygiene team.
Support and develop the QA team, ensuring clear standards, effective communication, and consistent performance.
Support the wider business with SEDEX compliance and ethical trading requirements.
Collate and support reporting on Environmental, Social, and Governance information.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in technical, quality, or food safety management within a food manufacturing, packing, or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and Quality Management Systems, with a robust understanding of audit preparation and compliance.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation, standards, and follow-up actions.
Confident communicator, able to effectively work with customers, suppliers, auditors, managers, and operational teams.
Ability to lead, support, and develop QA and hygiene teams, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards.
Proactive and practical, with the confidence to identify risks, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Comfortable working in a busy packing station environment where priorities can change quickly.
Previous experience within eggs, poultry, chilled food, fresh produce, or a similar food manufacturing environment is beneficial.Benefits:
