How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar Electrician – Overview

    Low Carbon Recruitment Ltd are currently working with a well-established and growing renewable energy installer and they are looking for an experienced Solar Electrician to join their in-house installation team. The role covers a mix of domestic solar PV systems (typically 6–8 panels) and larger commercial installations ranging from 40 up to 700 panels.

    The company has been running since 2016 and also work with Air Source Heat Pumps, Underfloor Heating and Solar Thermal. All the work is local to their area.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated electrician who wants stable work, high-quality installations, and long-term career progression within the renewable energy sector.

    Within the role, you will work in a three-man team alongside a Roofer/Panel Installer and a Laborer, installing Solar PV systems on private domestic and social housing properties within the local area. You will work as a team to complete installations, with the laborer carrying the panels up, the roofer installing and fixing the panels and running the cables through, which the electrician will then wire up and commission the system. On the domestic side most systems range between 6-12 panels and some jobs will have a battery storage system in addition.

    The role is mobile with a company van and fuel card provided and therefore it is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.

    Solar Electrician – Requirements

    * Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

    * Previous solar PV installation experience (essential)

    * Experience with both domestic and commercial systems preferred

    * ECS/CSCS card

    * Full UK driving licence

    Solar Electrician – Salary and Remuneration

    * Salary up to £45,000 - £55,000 D.O.E

    * Working Hours 7:30am – 5pm

    * Door to Door Travel Pay – ½ Hour Each Way
