How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This role is key to supporting production. While the position is predominantly turning, experience with milling (particularly Hafco milling machines) would be highly advantageous.

    There is also the opportunity, if desired, to accompany the installation team on-site to see the finished products in use and develop additional skills outside of machining.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Set up and operate Hafco lathes to produce precision-engineered components.

    * Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

    * Carry out predominantly turning work to a high standard.

    * Operate milling machinery where required (preferred but not essential).

    * Maintain machinery and ensure a clean, safe working environment.

    * Work collaboratively with the wider production team.

    * Opportunity to assist with product installations and gain a broader understanding of the manufacturing process.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong turning experience.

    * Ability to set up and operate lathes independently.

    * Experience reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.

    * Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

    * A genuine level of hands-on machining experience.

    Desirable Skills

    * Experience operating Hafco milling machines (Essential)

    * General milling experience.

    * An interest in learning installation work and seeing projects through to completion.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary

    * Overtime opportunities available (Flexibility is required as the business is currently in it’s peak period)

    * Working for a well established family run business

    * On site parking

    * Clean and modern working environment

    * Monday to Friday working hours with a great work-life balance.

    * Permanent, long-term position.

    * Opportunity to broaden your skills through installation work.

    * Potential for flexible or part-time working arrangements in the future for the right candidate

    If you're an experienced machinist with a strong background in turning and you're looking for a stable role with overtime and future flexibility, we'd love to hear from you
