How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
    Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Flexible temporary roles (day-to-day, short-term and long-term)
    Salary: £93-£100 per day, pro-rata (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications)

    About the role

    Heart of Supply is preparing for a busy September and is looking for caring, proactive and experienced Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our growing network of partner schools across Lincoln.

    From providing 1:1 support to working with small groups, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs thrive both in and out of the classroom. Every day is different, making this the perfect opportunity for adaptable, compassionate individuals who are passionate about making a real difference.

    Whether you're looking for day-to-day supply, short-term assignments or long-term placements, we'd love to hear from you. Join Heart of Supply and be part of an exciting start to the new academic year.

    About the schools

    At Heart of Supply, we work closely with a wide range of welcoming primary schools across Lincoln and the surrounding areas. Our partner schools include local authority schools and academy settings that are well-supported, well-resourced, and focused on creating positive learning environments where children can flourish. We take pride in working with schools that value their staff and provide a friendly, supportive atmosphere for visiting educators.

    By building strong relationships with our partner schools, we are able to carefully match primary educators with settings that suit their skills, experience, and preferences. Whether a school needs short-term cover or longer-term support, we help ensure continuity and quality in the classroom. For schools, this means access to dedicated professionals who are ready to make a meaningful impact, and for educators, the opportunity to gain valuable experience while supporting primary pupils across Lincolnshire.

    What you will need:

    * Experience supporting children in a school, nursery, or education-based setting

    * Clear, professional communication and a proactive, reliable attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff

    * A minimum of 6 weeks’ experience working with children in a similar setting in the UK

    * A kind, confident, and calm approach, with a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed

    * The ability to follow a teacher’s lead while using your initiative to support individuals and small groups

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * Experience supporting children with additional needs

    * A flexible and proactive attitude, ready to step into different classrooms and year groups

    * A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is helpful, but not essential if you have relevant experience

    We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.

    What we offer you:

    * Competitive weekly PAYE pay

    * Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term

    * Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools

    * A friendly, experienced consultant who listens

    * Free CPD and ongoing professional development

    * A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme

    * A welcome bonus (T&Cs apply)

    * A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey

    Heart of Supply is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates. We do not discriminate on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. All appointments are made in line with safer recruitment practices.
