How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT)
    Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Flexible, day-to-day, short-term and long-term roles.
    Salary: £125 - £174.71 per day, pro-rata (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications)

    Are you a Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for your first teaching role? Supply teaching is a fantastic way for Primary Teachers to gain experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while building confidence in a range of primary schools.

    Supply teaching is a fantastic way to build confidence, gain experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, and discover the schools and year groups that suit you best. Many of our placements even lead to longer-term or permanent opportunities.

    Heart of Supply are looking for enthusiastic Primary ECTs who are adaptable, approachable and ready to make a positive impact from day one. You'll deliver pre-planned lessons, create engaging learning environments and quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

    About the schools

    At Heart of Supply, we have wonderful relationships with welcoming primary schools across Lincoln, offering Primary ECTs flexible day-to-day, short-term and long-term supply teaching opportunities. From local authority schools to academy trusts, our partner schools are supportive, well organised and value the contribution supply teachers make every day.

    What you will need:

    * QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent experience in a UK primary setting

    * A nurturing, flexible teaching approach with the ability to connect quickly with pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2

    * Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management rooted in positive reinforcement

    * The ability to follow pre-set work while bringing your own creativity and energy to the classroom

    * Clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff alike

    * A minimum of 6 weeks’ teaching experience in the UK
