We're looking for compassionate and committed Residential Children & Young Peoples Workers for our beautiful new Short Breaks home in Rothley (near Mountsorrel), where you will support children & young people between 0-18 years who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), various complex needs and challenging behaviour. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one-time providing opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.
What you'll be doing. Every day brings something different. You'll:
✨To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
✨To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
✨To contribute to the up keep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
✨To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
✨To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
✨To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
We're looking for someone who:
Is a driver.
Holds (or is willing to work towards) a Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
Must be motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Relevant experience working with children & young people in a children's home setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.
