How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEMH Teacher

    Stockport | September Start | £170 - £250 per day

    Are you a passionate and resilient qualified teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting on behalf of a supportive specialist setting in Stockport seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join their dedicated team.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning while building confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards education.

    The Role

    Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.

    Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.

    Develop positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support student progress.

    Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes.

    Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, adapting teaching approaches where required.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).

    Experience teaching within a UK school, with experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour highly desirable.

    Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

    A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching.

    Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
