How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Production Operative - Manufacturing
    Location: Midford, Bath
    Pay Rate: £15.14 per hour
    Type: Temporary ongoing
    Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30, Friday 07:30 - 12:30

    CMD Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of Cross Manufacturing, a world-leading manufacturer supplying precision-engineered components to the aerospace, automotive and industrial sectors.

    We are looking for experienced Production Operatives or Manufacturing Operatives who have previously worked within a factory or engineering environment and are looking to join a skilled production team.

    The Role

    Working within the Winding Department, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality precision components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

    Duties include:

    Operating production machinery and manufacturing equipment
    Manufacturing precision components to engineering specifications
    Conducting quality inspections and visual checks
    Using measuring equipment and production gauges
    Completing production documentation accurately
    Following standard operating procedures and health & safety requirements
    Working to production targets whilst maintaining excellent quality standards

    We are looking for candidates with:

    Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment
    Experience operating production machinery or manufacturing equipment
    Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality products
    Ability to follow written work instructions and manufacturing processes
    Good manual dexterity and practical skills
    A reliable work ethic and excellent attendance record

    Ideal backgrounds include:

    Production Operative
    Manufacturing Operative
    Machine Operative
    Assembly Operative
    Engineering Operative
    CNC Operator
    Press Operator
    Mechanical AssemblyAlthough full training will be provided on Cross Manufacturing's products and processes, applicants should have previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.

    This is a precision manufacturing environment where attention to detail and quality are essential. It is not a general warehouse or picking and packing role.
