How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SHEQ Advisor

    Dartford, Kent

    SHEQ Advisor opportunity available with a leading specialist contractor delivering façade remediation, external wall insulation (EWI), retrofit and social housing decarbonisation projects across London and the South East.

    The Role

    As SHEQ Advisor, you'll work closely with operational teams across multiple live construction projects, ensuring the business maintains the highest standards of health & safety, environmental compliance and quality assurance.

    You'll split your time between Hamilton's Dartford office and project sites across the South East, providing practical SHEQ support to site teams, carrying out inspections and audits, investigating incidents and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews across multiple projects.

    Support site management teams with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.

    Produce and review risk assessments, method statements and SHEQ documentation.

    Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying corrective actions.

    Deliver toolbox talks and SHEQ training to site teams.

    Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

    Assist with maintaining ISO management systems and supporting external audits.

    Monitor environmental performance and promote sustainable working practices.

    Produce SHEQ reports and monitor corrective actions through to completion.

    Build strong working relationships with operational teams, subcontractors and clients.

    Requirements

    Previous experience as a SHEQ Advisor, HSEQ Advisor, Health & Safety Advisor or similar within construction.

    Experience working on façade, cladding, refurbishment, retrofit, social housing or main contracting projects is highly desirable.

    Good knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and construction best practice.

    Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.

    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).

    Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.

    Willingness to travel regularly to projects across London and the South East, as well as Hamilton's Dartford office.
