How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: School Administrator / Receptionist
    Location: North Solihull
    Start Date: 1st September
    Salary: £15.00 - £16.50 per hour

    Are you an experienced School Administrator / Receptionist looking for a new opportunity in a busy secondary school environment?

    Do you have previous school administration or reception experience and enjoy supporting students, parents and staff on a daily basis?

    Are you confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and school management systems such as Bromcom?

    TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-respected Secondary School and Sixth Form in North Solihull that is looking to appoint an experienced School Administrator / Receptionist. Known for its excellent student outcomes and supportive working environment, the school is seeking a professional and organised individual to become an integral part of its busy front office team.

    The school is looking to appoint a full-time School Administrator / Receptionist on a temporary 6-month supply role starting on 1st September, with the possibility of the role being extended further. The successful School Administrator / Receptionist will work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, carrying out general administration duties, managing reception, dealing with student and parent enquiries and supporting the wider school office. There may also be opportunities to work during the summer holidays to help prepare for the new academic year, so if you think you are the right candidate for the position, please apply as soon as possible.

    The successful School Administrator / Receptionist will have:

    • Previous school administration or school receptionist experience
    • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and general PC literacy
    • Experience using school management systems such as Bromcom is highly desirable
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • The ability to work efficiently in a busy school office and provide a professional front-of-house service
    • The ability to commit to the full-time hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
