How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    I am recruiting for my client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Hayes, Middlesex. They are looking to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business where you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment and supporting the day-to-day operation of the site. Working as part of the maintenance team, you will ensure manufacturing machinery and equipment is maintained to the highest standard, supporting production and minimising downtime.

    The role is Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

    * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing machinery and equipment.

    * Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, carrying out fault finding and repairs.

    * Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.

    * Assisting with the installation, modification and improvement of manufacturing equipment.

    * Supporting continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

    * You will have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold a relevant engineering qualification and be electrically biased with strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Previous experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment is essential.

    * You will be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics and possess good mechanical maintenance skills.

    * You will have a proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
