How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator

    Location: Halifax
    Salary: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour DOE (Approx. £39,000 per annum)
    Hours: Monday to Friday | 37 Hours Per Week | Days (7:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, Early Finish Friday)

    Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke material handling and conveyor equipment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join their expanding workshop team.

    The Role

    As a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality fabricated components from engineering drawings. You'll work with a range of sheet metal products, carrying out TIG welding, fabrication, grinding and assembly to produce bespoke equipment to a high standard.

    This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to someone who enjoys varied fabrication work and takes pride in producing quality workmanship.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fabricate and assemble bespoke sheet metal components
    Carry out high-quality TIG welding
    Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
    Use hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment safely
    Grind, finish and prepare fabricated components
    Carry out accurate measuring, marking out and cutting
    Ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards
    Maintain a clean and safe working environment
    Work closely with the wider production team to meet delivery deadlines

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator or Welder
    Strong TIG welding experience (essential)
    The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    Good fabrication and sheet metal skills
    Experience using fabrication machinery and hand tools
    Strong attention to detail
    Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
    A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing business
