How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Swindon (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite: every Wednesday and one additional day)

    Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract

    Rate: £375 per day (Umbrella)

    IR35 Status: Inside IR35

    Security Clearance: BPSS required

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Advisor to join an organisation on an initial three-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong employee relations experience to provide expert operational HR support within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

    Working closely with managers and key stakeholders, you will deliver practical HR advice across a broad range of people matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice. You will play a key role in supporting managers, resolving employee relations issues, contributing to organisational change initiatives and driving continuous improvement across HR services.

    Key Responsibilities

    As HR Operations Advisor, you will:

    * Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and employee relations matters.

    * Manage a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and performance cases, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.

    * Coach and support managers to make effective, consistent and legally compliant people management decisions.

    * Act as an escalation point for operational HR queries, resolving issues through the appropriate application of policies and procedures.

    * Build and maintain strong working relationships with managers, employees and key stakeholders across the organisation.

    * Support organisational change programmes by providing HR guidance throughout implementation.

    * Assist with recruitment activities, including coordinating job descriptions, supporting hiring managers and maintaining recruitment records.

    * Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems in accordance with data protection requirements.

    * Analyse HR data and trends, producing reports and identifying opportunities for service improvement.

    * Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and service delivery.

    * Ensure all HR activities are carried out in line with employment legislation, organisational policies and HR best practice.

    * Escalate complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    * Demonstrable experience in an HR Advisory or HR Operations role.

    * Proven experience managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters.

    * CIPD Level 5 qualification (or above), or equivalent practical HR experience.

    * A strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

    * Sound judgement when interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures.

    * Experience using HR information systems and maintaining accurate employee records.

    * A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality HR service.

    Desirable Experience

    It would be advantageous if you have:

    * Experience using Oracle Fusion HR.

    * Experience supporting organisational change programmes.

    * Experience analysing HR metrics and producing management information.

    * Previous experience working within the public sector or a large, complex organisation.

    * Knowledge of pension administration processes.

    Working Arrangements

    * Hybrid working model.

    * Mandatory onsite attendance in Swindon every Wednesday and one additional day each week (this requirement is fixed).
