How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Location: North West England
    Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
    Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

    Our client is a well-established manufacturer specialising in high-quality injection moulded plastic products, supplying a diverse range of industries across the UK. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing a wide range of production machinery and site services. The role will involve everything from reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance through to project work and equipment installations.

    Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in maximising machine reliability and minimising downtime across the site.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery
    Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and effectively
    Install and commission new machinery and equipment
    Support continuous improvement and engineering projects
    Maintain site electrical systems and associated equipment
    Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
    Work collaboratively with production to maximise equipment uptime
    Complete maintenance documentation and reports accurately

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    An electrically biased multi-skilled engineering background
    Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering qualifications
    A completed time-served apprenticeship
    18th Edition (desirable)
    Experience working with three-phase electrical systems and 24V control circuits
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently
    Experience within manufacturing, plastics, injection moulding or a similar industrial environment would be advantageous
