How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    COMMERCIAL & HGV VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR

    Location: Hoddesdon
    Salary: OTE £50,000 (Basic Salary £45,000 - £55,000+ DOE)

    THE ROLE
    As a Commercial & HGV Vehicle Damage Assessor, you'll be responsible for accurately assessing accident-damaged commercial vehicles, producing repair estimates, and supporting the smooth progression of repairs from initial inspection through to completion.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Inspecting damaged HGVs and commercial vehicles to identify repair requirements.
    ·Preparing accurate repair estimates using recognised estimating systems.
    ·Liaising with insurers, engineers, customers, and workshop teams throughout the repair process.
    ·Identifying additional damage and updating repair estimates where necessary.
    ·Ordering and authorising parts in line with repair requirements.
    ·Monitoring repair progress to ensure work is completed efficiently and to agreed timescales.
    ·Ensuring all repairs comply with manufacturer methods and industry standards.
    ·Maintaining accurate documentation and delivering outstanding customer service throughout the repair journey.

    ABOUT YOU
    This role would suit an experienced Commercial Vehicle Damage Assessor / HGV Vehicle Damage Assessor / Commercial Estimator / HGV Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor with strong technical knowledge and excellent organisational skills.

    You'll ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor or Estimator within the commercial vehicle, HGV, or accident repair sector.
    ·Excellent understanding of commercial vehicle construction and repair methods.
    ·Experience using estimating software such as Audatex or similar platforms.
    ·Strong communication and customer service skills.
    ·The ability to manage multiple repairs while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
    ·A proactive and organised approach to workload management.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
