Associate Civil Engineer (Drainage & Infrastructure)

Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Team Leader/Associate Civil Engineer to join their growing Civils & Infrastructure team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys developing people, and driving project success.
Working across a variety of infrastructure projects, you'll lead a team responsible for the design of highways and drainage schemes, with a particular emphasis on drainage design, which forms the majority of the team's workload.
The Role
Responsible for leading a team of engineers while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. You'll play a key role in resource planning, mentoring team members, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues across the business.
Responsibilities:
Manage the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects.
Oversee the design of highways and drainage schemes, with a strong emphasis on drainage.
Plan and coordinate resources across multiple projects.
Attend resource planning meetings and contribute to project scheduling.
Assist in fee management, project appointments, and service negotiations.
Review and approve team timesheets and annual leave requests.
Conduct regular team meetings, appraisals, and performance reviews.
Support the professional and personal development of your team.
Ideal requirements:
Proven experience leading a Civil Engineering team.
Strong background in civil infrastructure design, particularly drainage.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Experience using:
MicroDrainage
Civil 3D
AutoCAD
