How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major infrastructure project during a critical phase of utilities diversion works.

The successful candidate will support the safe delivery of complex utility installations, including high-risk excavation activities and works around existing live services, while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across multiple work sites.

    * Review and advise on RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.

    * Attend client and stakeholder meetings as the project's Health & Safety representative.

    * Work closely with site management teams to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

    * Monitor site activities, carrying out inspections and addressing unsafe behaviours and conditions.

    * Support the safe delivery of excavation works and activities involving underground utilities.

    * Assist project leadership with risk management and the promotion of a positive safety culture.

    * Participate in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and the implementation of corrective actions.

    * Drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance throughout the project.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within the utilities or civil engineering sector.

    * Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.

    * Strong background in utility infrastructure projects, ideally within water, gas, or electrical works.

    * Excellent knowledge of excavation safety and working around live services.

    * Experience supporting Health & Safety on large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

    * Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

    * Ability to coordinate and influence multiple subcontractors on site.
