How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teaching Assistant

Cambridge | £90 to £110 per day | September Start

Not every child needs someone to fix them. Sometimes they just need someone who won't give up on them.

If you've got the resilience to stay calm when others can't, the patience to build trust over time, and the confidence to support children with additional needs, this could be the role for you.

Simply Education is recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support fantastic primary schools and specialist settings across Cambridge this September. We're looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference and understand that progress isn't always measured in grades. Sometimes it's measured in smiles, confidence and small victories.

This role would suit you if you have experience as:

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    Learning Support Assistant

    Behaviour Mentor

    Sports Coach working with children

    Residential Care Worker

    Youth Worker

    Support Worker within children's services

    What you'll be doing

Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs

Working 1:1 and in small groups

Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning

Building positive relationships through consistency and trust

Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams

    What we're looking for

A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND

Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

Resilience, patience and a calm approach under pressure

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

A genuine passion for helping every child reach their potential

    Why join Simply Education?

Competitive daily pay of £90 to £110 per day

Flexible, short term and long term opportunities

    September roles available now

Opportunities to work in supportive schools where you'll be valued

A dedicated consultant who takes the time to find the right fit for you

Free CPD and ongoing career support

The best SEN Teaching Assistants aren't always those with the longest CV. They're the ones who can stay positive, build trust and turn challenging days into successful ones.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today or contact Jack at Simply Education to secure your September role before the new academic year begins
