How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Test Equipment Engineer | Cambridge | Outside IR35 Contract

    Our client is seeking an experienced Test Equipment Engineer to support the design, development and delivery of automated production test systems for complex electronic products.

    Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, validating and supporting automated test equipment throughout the product lifecycle. You'll also provide technical support to manufacturing, troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    +Design, develop and validate automated production test equipment.

    +Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

    +Evaluate, optimise and debug automated test systems and associated hardware.

    +Support manufacturing with fault finding, root cause analysis and production test improvements.

    +Investigate production issues and implement solutions to improve product quality and manufacturing yield.

    Requirements

    +Experience designing, developing and delivering automated test equipment.

    +Strong understanding of electronic measurement techniques and test principles.

    +Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, network analysers, power supplies and digital multimeters.

    +Knowledge of automated test systems and standard instrument communication protocols.

    +Experience working across the full product development lifecycle.

    Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with a methodical approach to problem solving.
