How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Goods In & Production Support Operative

    Our client, a successful manufacturer supplying customers across the UK and Europe, is looking for a Goods In & Production Support Operative to join their team in Andover.
    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or technical stores experience to join a growing business that genuinely invests in its people and offers clear career development opportunities.
    As a Goods In & Production Support Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations by managing incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting the production team with components and materials.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Receive, check and inspect all incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality
    * Read and interpret engineering drawings and part lists to verify components
    * Book stock into the system against purchase orders with precision
    * Maintain accurate stock records and organise stores efficiently
    * Pick parts and prepare kit lists for the production team
    * Support machine builders by providing components and materials as needed
    * Assist with basic mechanical assemblies when required
    * Identify and report shortages, damaged goods or discrepancies promptly
    * Collaborate closely with engineering, production and purchasing teams
    Who they're looking for:
    * Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or technical stores environment
    * Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings or technical part information
    * Strong IT skills and comfort using stock control or ERP systems
    * Organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
