How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Turner Programmer

    Location: Oldbury
    Salary: £17.00 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience)
    Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm | Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm

    About the Role

    We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Oldbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to join a stable business producing high-quality precision components in small to medium batch quantities.

    You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls, ensuring components are manufactured to exact customer specifications while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Program, set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls.
    Produce precision components in batch sizes ranging from 1-offs through to 100-offs.
    Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
    Select and install tooling, making offset adjustments where required.
    Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
    Machine components to tight tolerances of 20-30 microns.
    Monitor machine performance and make programme or tooling adjustments to maintain quality.
    Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
    Work closely with the production team to meet quality and delivery targets.
    Requirements
    Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
    Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
    Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
    Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances.
    Competent using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and bore gauges.
    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    A positive attitude with strong attention to detail.

    Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
    Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm
    Pay & Benefits
    £17.00 - £18.50 per hour
    28 days holiday, increasing to 33 days with length of service
