How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're recruiting for an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business. This is a key technical role where you'll take ownership of the site's electrical compliance, automation systems and controls infrastructure, while driving reliability, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

    You'll be the site's technical expert for electrical and control systems, leading automation projects, supporting capital investment and coaching the wider engineering team on fault finding and best practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Act as the site's Electrical Duty Holder, ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.

    * Maintain, develop and improve PLC, HMI and automation systems to maximise plant performance.

    * Lead electrical and controls fault finding, root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements.

    * Deliver automation and electrical improvement projects from concept through to completion.

    * Maintain accurate electrical drawings, PLC documentation and software backups.

    * Standardise electrical and control components to improve reliability and reduce inventory.

    * Coach and develop engineers in electrical and PLC fault-finding techniques.

    * Support capital projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and to the highest technical standards.

    About You

    You'll be a proactive Electrical or Controls Engineer with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Experience programming and fault finding PLC and HMI systems.

    * Strong knowledge of industrial electrical installations and control systems.

    * Experience with AC drives, servo systems and industrial automation.

    * Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

    * A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification, with 18th Edition and HNC/HND desirable
