How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and develop the confidence to succeed? Do you have the patience, empathy, and motivation to become a positive influence in a young person's life? This Behaviour Mentor role in Oxfordshire offers an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful experience supporting children and young people within a specialist school environment.

A highly supportive school in Oxfordshire is looking for a resilient and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join their team. The role involves working with children who may experience challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, social interaction, Autism, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be a trusted adult and positive role model for children who may need additional guidance and encouragement throughout their school day. You will help children recognise their emotions, develop strategies to manage difficult situations, and build the confidence needed to participate positively in education.

Rather than simply managing behaviour, the Behaviour Mentor will focus on understanding the reasons behind behaviours and helping pupils develop the skills they need for long-term success. You will support children through challenging moments, encourage positive decision-making, and help them build stronger relationships with both staff and peers.

Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and wider support staff, the Behaviour Mentor will contribute to personalised support plans, deliver targeted mentoring sessions, and provide consistent encouragement to help children overcome barriers that may affect their learning and wellbeing.

This Behaviour Mentor position is particularly suited to graduates and individuals interested in progressing into careers within Psychology, Youth Work, Education, Counselling, Social Care, Criminal Justice, or Mental Health Support. The experience gained in this role will help you develop valuable skills in communication, conflict resolution, safeguarding, and understanding behaviour.

    Why Apply?

Make a genuine difference by supporting young people through personal and educational challenges.
Gain practical experience in mentoring, behaviour support, and emotional wellbeing.
Learn from experienced education and pastoral professionals.
Develop transferable skills for careers in psychology, counselling, teaching, youth services, and support work.
Work in a rewarding specialist school environment.
    Full-time, Monday to Friday.
£85-£110 per day. This Behaviour Mentor opportunity is ideal for someone who believes that every young person has the ability to progress when given the right support, encouragement, and guidance. You will have the chance to create meaningful connections, celebrate small achievements, and help pupils develop the confidence they need for the future.

If you are looking for a role where your ability to connect with young people can make a lasting impact, this Behaviour Mentor position in Oxfordshire provides the perfect opportunity to begin or develop a career in education, wellbeing, or youth support.

Apply today for this Behaviour Mentor opportunity in Oxfordshire and start making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
