How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Logistics Supervisor

Harlow | Data Centre | Freelance

    £250 - £300 per day

This is a role for a Logistics Supervisor who can keep a busy data centre site moving properly.

You will be working on a live data centre project in Harlow, supporting the Logistics Manager with day-to-day site logistics, deliveries, access routes, plant movement, storage areas, temporary fencing, welfare, housekeeping and general site coordination.

This is not just a banksman or delivery booking role. The project needs someone who can be out on site, understand what is happening, coordinate with trades and help make sure the right materials, plant and people are in the right place at the right time.

You will be working in a fast-moving environment where logistics has a direct impact on programme, safety and productivity. If access routes are blocked, deliveries are missed, laydown areas are poorly managed or lifting movements are not coordinated properly, the job slows down. Your role is to help stop that happening.

    What you’ll be doing

    * You will support the Logistics Manager with the day-to-day running of site logistics across a live data centre project.

    * You will help manage deliveries, booking slots, vehicle movements, loading areas, laydown space, storage areas and material distribution.

    * You will coordinate with subcontractors, supervisors, site managers, construction managers and security teams to keep access routes clear and works properly sequenced.

    * You will help control plant movement, temporary fencing, scaffold interfaces, crane lifts, hoists, forklifts, MEWPs and general site movement.

    * You will make sure materials are delivered, stored and moved safely without blocking workfaces or affecting other trades.

    * You will support temporary works and lifting coordination where required, escalating anything that needs input from the Logistics Manager, Temporary Works Coordinator or Appointed Person.

    * You will help manage site housekeeping, waste movement, pedestrian routes, traffic routes, signage, barriers and exclusion zones.

    * You will assist with daily logistics briefings, delivery coordination meetings, subcontractor updates and site walks.

    * You will make sure RAMS, permits, delivery paperwork and access requirements are followed properly on site.

    * You will help identify issues early and keep the Logistics Manager updated on anything that could affect safety, access, programme or productivity.

    What you’ll need

    * You will need experience as a Logistics Supervisor, Site Logistics Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator, Site Supervisor, Traffic Marshal Supervisor or Works Supervisor on construction projects.

    * Data centre experience would be ideal, but experience on large commercial, industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceutical or other busy construction sites would also be relevant.

    * You should understand site logistics, delivery management, traffic routes, laydown areas, material movement, housekeeping and subcontractor coordination.

    * Experience around plant movement, temporary fencing, scaffolding, crane lifts, forklifts, MEWPs, hoists or lifting operations would be useful.

    * You will need to be confident working on site, dealing with subcontractors and speaking up when something is unsafe, blocked, badly planned or likely to affect the programme.

    * SSSTS would be useful, but not always essential depending on experience.

    * CSCS is expected.

    * Banksman / Traffic Marshal, First Aid, Fire Marshal, MEWPs for Managers, Temporary Works Supervisor or forklift tickets would all be beneficial.

    * A forklift ticket could be useful if the site wants someone hands-on, but I would not make it the main requirement. For this role, logistics coordination and site control matter more than just operating plant.

    Why this role

This is a good opportunity to get onto a live data centre project with a specialist delivery team.

You will be supporting a Logistics Manager, so you will not be carrying the whole logistics function alone, but you will still have proper responsibility on site.

For someone with good construction logistics experience who wants stronger data centre exposure, this is the type of project that will strengthen your CV.
