How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative engineering organisation, supporting the verification and validation of complex electro-mechanical products throughout the full product lifecycle.

    This role is responsible for planning, executing and reporting on mechanical verification activities, working closely with Mechanical Design, Electronics, Systems and Manufacturing teams to identify design risks early, validate product performance and provide evidence of compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Plan, define and execute mechanical design verification activities against product requirements, specifications and relevant industry standards.

    * Develop verification strategies, test plans, test procedures and specifications to ensure full requirements coverage.

    * Review mechanical designs, engineering drawings, tolerances, materials and assemblies to identify verification risks and potential design issues.

    * Carry out mechanical verification testing including environmental, vibration, shock, thermal, ingress protection, structural, durability, fatigue and life-cycle testing.

    * Design, specify and build mechanical test fixtures, jigs and rigs to support development and verification activities.

    * Assemble mechanical prototypes and test samples in accordance with engineering documentation.

    * Manage verification samples throughout the development lifecycle.

    * Support iterative product development through rapid testing and feedback.

    * Prepare products and fixtures for external testing and support activities at third-party test facilities where required.

    * Ensure verification activities comply with applicable industry and regulatory standards.

    * Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust product verification throughout development.

    The Successful Candidate will have:

    * A Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant industry experience.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering principles.

    * Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering drawings.

    * Hands-on experience conducting structured mechanical verification testing.

    * Experience using measurement and inspection equipment.

    * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    * A structured, methodical and detail-focused approach.
