Rotherwood Cares is recruiting on behalf of our client for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join a brand-new residential service supporting young people aged 16–18.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the beginning, initially working on a flexible temporary/ad-hoc basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position as the home develops.
About the Role
You will be supporting young people who may have experienced trauma and require consistent, person-centred support. Some of the young people may present with:
* Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
* Mental health needs
* ADHD
* Emotional and behavioural difficulties
* Challenging behaviours
* Absconding risks
Your role will involve building positive relationships, promoting independence, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the young people, and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
Shift Pattern
* Flexible shifts available

* Waking Nights
* Ad-hoc work with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role
Pay Rate
£12.71 per hour
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience supporting children, young people or adults with complex needs, mental health, learning disabilities or challenging behaviours.
* OR students currently studying Health & Social Care, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Youth Work or a related subject who are looking for part-time or full-time experience alongside their studies.
* A caring, resilient and professional approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Essential Requirements
* Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Previous support or care experience is preferred.
* Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
