How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Family Support Worker

    We are currently recruiting Family Support Workers to support children, young people and families.

    We are happy to speak with candidates who have experience working with children in any setting. This could include schools, nurseries, youth work, residential children’s services, SEN support, childcare, family support, mentoring, care, volunteering or community-based roles.

    You do not need to have previously worked as a Family Support Worker, but you must have a genuine passion for supporting children, young people and families.

    The role will involve:

    Supporting children, young people and families with day-to-day needs, routines and emotional wellbeing.

    Building positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and other professionals.

    Helping families access support, attend appointments and engage with services.

    Promoting safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes for children.

    Recording updates clearly and reporting any concerns appropriately.

    Working in a calm, patient and non-judgemental way.

    We are looking for someone who is:

    Confident working with children and young people.

    Caring, reliable and professional.

    Able to communicate well with families and professionals.

    Patient, resilient and able to manage sensitive situations.

    Aware of safeguarding and the importance of professional boundaries.

    Flexible and willing to support families with different needs.

    Experience accepted from:

    Schools Nurseries Youth work Children’s residential services SEN / SEND support Teaching assistant roles Childcare Support work Family support Mentoring Care work Volunteering with children or families

    Requirements:

    Previous experience working with children or young people in any setting.

    Good communication skills.

    A caring and professional approach.

    Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one.

    Right to work in the UK.

    References covering previous experience.
