Senior Highways Engineer

Our client, a prominent player in the highways sector, is seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join their dynamic team. This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in high-profile infrastructure projects, including renewable energy developments, 278 highways, and active travel projects from concept through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage highway engineering projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative design solutions
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings
Provide expert advice on highways design standards and best practices
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met
Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team
Contribute to business development through technical input and client relationship management
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes

Job Requirements:

Substantial experience in highways engineering and infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of engineering design principles and relevant software
Proficiency in project management and delivery
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
Experience working on developer work, local authority work, and capital projects
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
