HR Advisor – 6 months FTC, possibility of going perm

Medlock Partners are partnering with a well-established global manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to join its growing HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting managers and delivering a first-class HR service across the employee lifecycle.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you'll provide generalist HR support across a busy manufacturing site, working closely with managers and employees to deliver practical HR solutions while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
This is a varied role offering exposure to all aspects of HR, including employee relations, HR administration, manager coaching and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes and leavers.
- Maintain accurate HR records and employee data using the HR system.
- Produce HR reports and prepare contracts, letters and other documentation.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR and employee relations queries.
- Manage first-line employee relations cases, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and conduct matters.
- Coach and support managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
- Coordinate probation reviews and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with UK employment legislation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous experience working as a HR Advisor within a manufacturing environment (essential).
- CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or currently working towards it.
- Strong generalist HR experience across the employee lifecycle.
- Experience managing first-line employee relations cases.
- A good understanding of UK employment law.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, approachable and customer-focused attitude.
