How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Planning Lead

    Location: South London


    An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Lead to join a major underground civil engineering and tunnelling programme in South London.

    Working as part of the project management team, you will lead the planning function on a complex infrastructure scheme involving large-scale underground construction works. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining project programmes, monitoring progress, identifying programme risks and providing accurate planning and performance reporting to support successful project delivery.


    The Role

    As Planning Lead, you will play a key role in coordinating planning activities across construction, commercial, design and temporary works teams. You will develop and maintain detailed project programmes, support the management of programme changes and ensure accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and maintain fully resourced project programmes.
    • Produce planning visualisations and undertake programme risk analysis.
    • Communicate planning information across project teams.
    • Develop construction methodologies and planning outputs.
    • Support the planning of temporary works design activities.
    • Monitor programme progress and implement programme changes where required.
    • Produce internal and external project programmes.
    • Review construction progress and prepare programme updates and reports.
    • Identify programme risks and support mitigation planning.
    • Programme compensation events and scope changes.
    • Coordinate planning activities with commercial, construction and design teams.
    • Integrate subcontractor programmes into the overall project programme.


    About You

    To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

    • HNC in a construction-related discipline or extensive experience within the civil engineering industry.
    • Experience in tunnelling and ground engineering works.
    • Experience delivering planning services across both tender and live project environments.
    • A good understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of project planning.
    • Competent use of industry planning software.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
