How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Commercial Litigation Associate (3–5 PQE) | British Virgin Islands

We are working on an excellent opportunity with a leading Offshore law firm in the British Virgin Islands, which is looking to hire a talented Commercial Litigation Associate (3–5 PQE) to join its highly regarded disputes team. Our client has an outstanding reputation across the Offshore market and advises on some of the most complex, high-value and cross-border disputes in the region, acting for international corporates, financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, investment funds and high-net-worth individuals.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer looking to take the next step in their career, working on sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, insolvency and restructuring matters, asset recovery and fraud investigations alongside leading practitioners in the Offshore market.

    The ideal candidate:

    • 3-5 years' PQE
    • Strong experience across commercial litigation, insolvency, shareholder disputes and/or contentious insolvency matters
    • Admitted in the UK
    • Excellent academic credentials
    • Experience gained at a leading international or top-tier national law firm
    • A genuine interest in relocating to the British Virgin Islands and building a long-term Offshore career

Hydrogen Group has some of the best legal opportunities globally, with over 50% of our roles being exclusive or retained. Our Offshore team has been recruiting internationally since 2011 and operates across our London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney offices. We are committed to building long-term relationships with the lawyers we work with, so even if you're not looking to move immediately, we'd be delighted to discuss your longer-term career plans.

Alongside our Offshore practice, Hydrogen Group has dedicated teams specialising in both Private Practice and In-House legal recruitment across the UK and internationally. With over 300 consultants worldwide, we have successfully placed candidates in more than 67 countries.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond individually to every applicant. If you have not heard from us within two weeks, it is likely your application has not been successful on this occasion.

Candidates outside of the stated PQE range are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate the relevant experience and competencies.

For more information or an informal, confidential discussion, please contact Jemima Lee at jemimalee@hydrogengroup.com.
