How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

With this game changing technology in hand, we are poised to improve the lives of millions of children worldwide.

This role will focus primarily on commercial contracts and providing support to the Senior Legal Counsel on a wide range of day-to-day legal and compliance matters, related to SightGlass Vision’s business operations internationally.  You will work closely with colleagues across key business functions, including operations, medical affairs, and sales and marketing, helping the business move forward while managing legal risk in a practical and proportionate way.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with approximately 2 years post-qualification experience looking to build their in-house career within a small but growing and commercially focused organisation

    What you will do

    ·        Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including cross border agreements, such as  distribution agreements, software licences, confidentiality agreements, clinical trial agreements, and services agreements.

    ·        Provide practical advice on contractual rights, obligations and dispute resolution.

    ·        Deliver commercially focused advice that supports business objectives while effectively managing legal risk.

    ·        Liaise with external legal advisers where required, under the direction of the Senior Legal Counsel.

    ·        Support the Senior Legal Counsel with a range of day‑to‑day legal and compliance matters, including intellectual property, employment, and data protection matters.

    ·        Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates, systems and ways of working.

    ·        Review marketing materials and promotional claims to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

    ·        Assist with the management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio and support the handling of IP infringement matters.

    ·        Monitor and report on relevant legal and regulatory developments that may impact the business.

    What you will bring

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    ·        Excellent drafting and negotiation skills and attention to detail.

    ·        Proven experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.

    ·        Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

    ·        Comfortable working with a degree of autonomy while recognising when matters should be escalated for guidance or decision-making.

    ·        Clear and confident communicator, able to work effectively with cross‑functional, non‑legal stakeholders.

    ·        Ability to exercise sound discretion and judgement and demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality best practices.

    ·        Experience of or exposure to intellectual property matters, advertising law, and/or data protection matters would be advantageous.

    ·        Experience providing legal support to organisations that operate across multiple jurisdictions, including China and/ or the U.S., would be helpful, but is not essential.

    ·        Knowledge of the medical device industry would be beneficial, but is not essential.

    ·        Experience of cross-border transactions would be helpful, but is not essential.

    Education and Qualifications:

    ·        Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, or equivalent qualification from a recognised common-law jurisdiction, with the ability to practise in the UK.

    Experience:

    ·        Approximately 2 years' post-qualification experience either in-house or in a law firm, with a minimum of 1 year.
